Life @ Seychelles

Warning: It’s difficult to come out of this magical island, called Seychelles. You will not feel like going back home!

On our last day of Seychelles trip we stopped at few HR agencies to understand the livelihood and employment opportunities available there. Because we were mesmerized by the simplicity of this island and wanted to stay there forever. People, Food, Music, Beaches, Bicycles – we were in Love.

Let me start with People first. One word – Helpful.

We mainly stayed at Self-service Apartments and the Apartment-Host were the best part of it. On our first morning at Mahe, we were extremely hungry and there was no supermarket next to our room. Our host was super generous. She provided eggs, bread with butter and jam without any extra charges. Will never forget how helpful and lovely she was! There were many more instances when we used to get amused by the hospitality and generosity of people over there. It was delightful meet them and know them in person.

Music of Seychelles – which makes one move like nothing else!

We were cycling around the La Digue island, trying to figure out our way to Grand Anse Beach and that’s when it struck us. The melodious music from a small Juice shop. It acted like the gravitational force and pulled us towards the source.

There was something different about the place as well. The décor was nothing sophisticated and yet mesmerizing. Colourful is the word I believe.

And the music – It was a great mixture of tropical tunes, magical variation in pitch and silvery voice. Joseph Lewis Thomas was the artist! You got to listen to his music to understand the gravity here. Sweet Stunning Gorgeous it was. You can virtually live the place and music here!

When it comes to Food at Seychelles, the most prominent are Food-trucks. Delicious food at economical price, what else one need! We used to pack our food from Food-Trucks, go to the next beach and eat our tasty lunch with the most amazing view – One of the best thing to do at Seychelles.

Other than the Food-Trucks, one can also easily notice road side Fruit-Juice shops with all possible fresh fruits. Our personal favorite was Papaya Juice. You can feel the burst of fresh papaya in your mouth when you take a sip of it. You got to try this when you are in this beautiful tropical island.

Another thing about Seychelles which makes us awestruck was Aldabra Giant Tortoise. More than 100 years old tortoise are enjoying their life to fullest here. We fed them with green grass and clicked few pictures with them. And now we can vouch that they are the most well-behaved living things in the planet earth. Enjoy your time with them!
